RÉMY COOLS

FOUNDER & WATCHMAKER

REMY COOLS

“If I could choose to have dinner with anyone, I’d pick Ettore Bugatti. He was more than just an automotive pioneer; he was an artist-engineer who redefined car design in the early 20th century. I’d love to explore how he balanced engineering with artistry, his creative process, and what drove him to create vehicles that remain icons of performance and beauty.”

Rémy Cools, a prominent young watchmaker, has made significant strides in the field of artisanal independent watchmaking. He first gained widespread attention with the creation of the Tourbillon Souscription, which debuted in 2020. This watch, featuring a highly finished hand-wound movement, captured the watch community’s attention with its elegant design and technical precision. Rémy followed this up with the Tourbillon Atelier in late 2023, showcasing a newly developed calibre and a redesigned case. The Tourbillon Atelier stood out with its 39mm platinum case and a domed sapphire crystal, highlighting the intricate tourbillon.

Born in France, Rémy studied at the renowned Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau, where he refined his craft between 2012 and 2018. His dedication and skill were quickly recognised, leading to his win in the much sought after F.P.Journe Young Talent Competition in 2018. Following his education, Rémy gained invaluable experience through internships at some of the most respected names in artisanal watchmaking.

Rémy remains dedicated to achieving complete independence in his watchmaking, with plans to internalise more of his production processes. His small, dedicated team is focused on maintaining high standards of craftsmanship while carefully managing growth.
