ALEX GHOTBI

DEPUTY CHAIRMAN
HEAD OF WATCHES EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST

PHILLIPS IN ASSOCIATION WITH BACS & RUSSO

“My favourite book is The Grand Complication by Allen Kurzweil. It’s a mystery novel about finding the Breguet No. 160 ‘The Grand Complication’, more commonly known as the Marie-Antoinette pocket watch. I found it gripping and fun to read. For us watch lovers, this novel hits the spot.”

Alex Ghotbi is the Deputy Chairman of Watches and Head of Watches for Europe and the Middle East at Phillips. With an educational foundation in business law, Alex earned his Master’s from Paris-Pantheon-Assas University and Côte d’Azur University, followed by a CAAE in Business Administration from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. His career began as a finance lawyer in Paris and London, where he practised for over a decade. Alex’s passion for horology led him to attend his first Baselworld and SIHH in 2000, and a year later, he co-founded The Purists, a notable watch discussion forum now known as PuristPro.

Transitioning into the watch industry, Alex served as the Community & Social Media Manager for Vacheron Constantin from 2008 to 2016.
